If you’ve never paid much attention to your Amazon feedback score, that needs to change pronto Toronto. While a stellar one tends to lead to more traffic and sales, a low one can get you kicked off the marketplace altogether, leading to zero traffic and sales. And just like our name suggests, FeedbackExpress has tips for you on how to improve yours — seven of them, in fact.
1. Always Try to Get Negative Feedback Removed if it Qualifies
Amazon very clearly outlines what kinds of reviews are acceptable, so if you get feedback that doesn’t adhere to their guidelines, you can appeal it. Like if someone writes about the product in their feedback review. Taking two seconds to review what’s been written can be one of the fastest and easiest ways to possibly get rid of negative, score-lowering feedback from your page.
2. Use FBA
There are a few motivating factors for using FBA, but one of the most important ones is you can possibly get negative feedback removed, like if Amazon messes up and the buyer complains. That’s because Amazon’s responsible for the fulfilment part, not you.
3. Use an Automated Service to Gently Nudge Buyers into Leaving Feedback
Automating your feedback is usually a no-brainer. Not only do you not have to manually remember to email buyers and (gently, never aggressively!) ask them to leave a review, but the messages that do get sent out and consistent in their design. Plus, automated software already knows the best words and phrases to use that tend to lead to the highest chances of getting that review.
4. Do Everything in Your Power to Change Negative Feedback into Positive Feedback
If you get a negative review and accept it, you’re giving up too easily. Read their review and identify why they’re upset, then message them to look into the matter further and see if there’s any way you can make things right. It’s not a 100% guarantee that buyers will change their words every time, but most will be impressed that you took the time to really hear them. Just keep in mind it’s a huge no-no to offer a reward/incentive/bribe to get them to alter their review.
5. Actually, Try and Avoid Negative Feedback Altogether
Know what’s easier than trying to remove or change negative feedback? Making sure it doesn’t happen in the first place. If you’ve consistently gotten negative reviews for things like slow or late shipping, mislabelled items or anything else seller-related, use that as a chance to change your business practices so future buyers don’t complain about them.
6. Be the Best Seller You Can Be
The saying ‘you can attract more flies with honey than you can with vinegar’ is especially true here. If you provide excellent customer support every single time, it’ll be pretty darn hard for buyers to say anything negative about you. Of course, you can’t please every buyer every single time (and there will always be those ones who find something to complain about), but you can sure increase your chances of getting positive reviews by focusing on customer satisfaction to a high degree.
7. Be Completely Honest in How You Advertise Your Items
If you advertise something as new, it better be new, and not gently-used-but-looks-just-about-new. Some buyers might not notice the difference, but it’s a) unfair to mislabel your items, and b) grounds for a negative review because the buyer didn’t get exactly what they bought. Plus, it’s better to err on the side of caution and pleasantly surprise your buyers with the item’s condition.
In our third tip, we briefly talked about why using automated feedback software is a good idea. But there’s more to FeedbackExpress than that. Not only will we send out consistent-looking and professional messages, but we’ll also time when those messages are sent, ask for product reviews once the positive feedback is written (and thank them for that), send you text alerts, and tons more. Sounds pretty sweet, eh? Hey, we’ll one-up ourselves: when you register, you start off with a 14 day free.
